Web Developer / SEO Specialist

In this multi-faceted role, you will own front-end and light back-end website development on WordPress, search engine optimization (SEO), and search engine marketing (SEM) including the management of Google Ads and other digital advertising methods. A history of working on websites and web applications from concept to completion is essential, as well as experience creating and managing multiple SEO and SEM strategies / campaigns.

Job Responsibilities

  • Write custom HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript for existing websites and applications 
  • Collaborate with Designer to develop, recommend and propose improvements to new and existing websites 
  • Ensure concept compatibility with the reality of multi-device environments, prioritizing mobile-first UX 
  • Provide technical support and assist in troubleshooting related to websites, SEO, and SEM 
  • Monitor, optimize, and update websites and its supporting content (posts, pages, plug-ins, etc.) 
  • Collaborate with MCG team members and outside vendors to manage multidisciplinary projects 
  • Collaborate with Content Strategist to build and launch strategic SEM campaigns and monitor ongoing campaign performance  
  • Deliver and explain monthly SEM & SEO reports to clients 
  • Manage day-to-day campaign optimizations across multiple platforms – including bid optimization, search query reports, and landing page / keyword / audience optimizations 
  • Utilize HTML/CSS to develop and modify email templates across various devices and marketing platforms 
  • Write proposals, monthly reports and other related project documentation

 

Requirements

  • Associate’s or advanced degree in computer science, web development or a related field (or equivalent work experience) 
  • Two years of experience with professional web development  
  • Deep familiarity and mastery of creating custom websites on WordPress, Shopify, and other CMS platforms 
  • Solid understanding of the web as a medium: HTML, CSS, web typography, responsive design, etc. 
  • Experience updating DNS records and managing hosting servers 
  • Experience and knowledge of Google’s services including Google Analytics, Google AdWords, and Search Console 
  • Deep understanding of .htaccess, robots.txt, XML Sitemaps, site speed optimization and other technical aspects of SEO 

 

Bonus Points

  • Experience with project management and digital communication software \
  • Knowledge working with HubSpot and/or SharpSpring
  • Client-facing and account management experience 
  • Understand forecasting, budgeting, billing, and campaign pacing 
  • Google certified in AdWords, Analytics, and Display 
  • Certified in SEO 
  • Experience in Social Media SEM Campaign Management (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
